Position Overview

Turner & Townsend Heery is in search of a seasoned Senior Construction Management Specialist to collaborate closely with one of our key clients. The successful candidate will be a proactive individual with outstanding communication abilities, a solid background in the construction sector, and the capability to take initiative and drive project activities with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with clients and consultants throughout all phases of the project.
  • Oversee financial management, ensuring timely client invoicing and utilizing financial systems to track project financial health.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans and timelines.
  • Implement and monitor performance management strategies.
  • Manage the change control process effectively.
  • Facilitate the flow of project information between the team and the client through regular meetings and written updates.
  • Prepare formal reports on project budget progress and other relevant metrics.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards through rigorous quality control measures.
  • Assist in drafting proposals for new projects or modifications to existing ones.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance project management procedures and tools, communicating suggestions to the appropriate line manager.
  • Ensure awareness of quality, safety, health, and environmental issues among team members and management.
  • Establish effective governance, processes, and systems for project execution.
  • Fulfill general line management responsibilities as applicable.

Required Qualifications:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical capabilities.
  • Proven ability to deliver efficient, reliable, and courteous service to clients.
  • Proficient in presenting information effectively.
  • In-depth understanding of financial terminology and principles.
  • Ability to perform complex calculations and budget forecasts.
  • Experience in conducting financial and business analyses, including report preparation.
  • Capable of solving complex problems and navigating various options in challenging situations.
  • Advanced analytical and quantitative skills with a track record of developing strategic solutions in a multi-industry sales environment.
  • Ability to leverage the analysis of others to make impactful recommendations.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to interpret architectural drawings.
  • Familiarity with MS Project, contracts, and construction methodologies.
  • Knowledge of the entitlement and permitting processes, as well as construction delivery methods.
  • Understanding of construction best practices, building codes, and various types of construction systems.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in construction administration, architecture, engineering, or a similar field.
  • Experience in public sector construction is preferred.
  • Familiarity with public contracting and compliance regulations is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications such as CACM, CMIT, Associate DBIA, PMP, or LCI are preferred.
