Position Overview
We are in search of a skilled Senior Construction Management Specialist to collaborate closely with one of our prominent clients. The successful candidate will be a proactive individual with outstanding communication abilities, a solid background in the construction sector, and the capability to independently drive project activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with clients and other consultants throughout all phases of the project.
- Oversee financial management, ensuring timely client invoicing and utilizing financial systems to track project financial health.
- Develop comprehensive project plans and timelines.
- Implement and monitor performance management strategies.
- Administer the change control process effectively.
- Facilitate the flow of project information between the team and clients through regular meetings and written communications.
- Prepare formal reports on project budget progress and other relevant updates.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards through rigorous quality control measures.
- Collaborate on proposals for new projects or modifications to existing ones.
- Identify opportunities to enhance project management processes, templates, and deliverables, and communicate suggestions to the appropriate line manager.
- Ensure that quality, safety, health, and environmental considerations are communicated to the relevant line manager.
- Establish effective governance, processes, and systems for project execution.
- Fulfill general line management responsibilities as applicable.
Required Qualifications:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical capabilities.
- Proven ability to deliver efficient, timely, and courteous service to clients.
- Competence in presenting information effectively.
- In-depth understanding of financial terminology and principles.
- Proficiency in calculating complex financial figures.
- Experience in forecasting and budget preparation.
- Conduct financial and business analyses, including report generation.
- Ability to navigate advanced problem-solving scenarios and evaluate various options in complex situations.
- Expert analytical and quantitative skills with a track record of developing strategic solutions in a multi-industry sales environment.
- Ability to synthesize analysis from others and make impactful recommendations.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Capability to interpret architectural drawings.
- Familiarity with MS Project, contracts, leases, and construction methodologies.
- Understanding of the entitlement/permitting process and construction delivery methods.
- Knowledge of construction best practices, building codes, and various construction types and systems.
- A detail-oriented and highly organized approach to work.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- At least five years of experience in construction administration, architecture, engineering, or a similar role.
- Experience in public sector construction is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with public contracting regulations and compliance is preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as CACM, CMIT, Associate DBIA, PMP, or LCI are advantageous.
