Job Purpose:
The Retail General Manager is responsible for overseeing sales performance, guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, recruitment, and talent development within their store. This role requires providing leadership and strategic direction to cultivate an environment that exceeds guest expectations, both in-store and digitally, while maximizing productivity, profitability, and sales outcomes. The Retail General Manager must have a clear understanding of company objectives and processes and demonstrate the ability to fulfill these responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Surpassing sales targets and objectives for the store.
- Driving company sales growth and profitability through effective selling, teamwork, extensive product knowledge, and outstanding guest service.
- Implementing proactive product selling and sampling initiatives in-store and at sampling stations throughout the day.
- Fostering a guest-centric culture that prioritizes exceptional guest experiences and meets sales goals.
- Overseeing the mystery shopping and NPS programs to ensure memorable guest experiences at each location.
- Managing teams of hourly staff, including interviewing, coaching, evaluating, and retaining talent.
- Conducting business reporting and analyzing guest insights to identify and address areas for improvement.
- Managing the store's profit and loss, key performance indicators, and inventory.
- Tracking labor costs, including scheduling and overtime, for the store.
- Utilizing financial tools and resources to proactively identify and address performance opportunities.
- Ensuring the store maintains cleanliness, operational excellence, and food safety standards.
- Maintaining a schedule that aligns with guest and business needs, ensuring presence during all operational hours.
- Ensuring compliance with federal and local safety regulations, including food safety, OSHA, CDC, ADA, and labor laws.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a manager in a retail or restaurant environment, overseeing a team of at least 15 members.
- Knowledge and interest in health, fitness, and wellness.
- Ability to build strong guest relationships and deliver exceptional service.
- Adaptability to new procedures and priorities, utilizing sound judgment in decision-making and conflict resolution.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in sales principles, key performance indicators, and guest service practices.
- Preferred: NYC Food Handler Card at the time of hire.
- Experience managing a profit and loss statement or similar financial reporting.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office applications: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
