Position Summary

The Electrical Engineer I/II will leverage their technical expertise to develop electrical engineering designs that reflect the project goals. This role requires a solid grasp of the consulting engineering workflow and the relevant contractual documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define project scope and utilize design software to create electrical system layouts, including lighting, power distribution, emergency systems, fire alarms, and security systems.
  • Ensure cost-effective design solutions and compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Prepare and coordinate BIM drawings, collaborating with various disciplines throughout all project phases.
  • Conduct construction administration duties, including site visits, review of shop drawings, and preparation of punch lists.
  • Manage project scope and ensure it is accurately represented in contractual documents, addressing any potential variances proactively.

•Cultivate strong relationships and maintain effective communication with clients, architects, and other professionals involved in the engineering process.

•Assist in mentoring junior electrical designers.

•Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

Must be authorized to work in the United States.

•Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.

•Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical design for commercial buildings, preferably in sectors such as aviation, education, healthcare, hospitality, or government.

•Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer in Training (EIT) designation preferred.

•At least 1 year of experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

•Familiarity with various project delivery methods, including design-build and fast-track.

•Knowledge of applicable local, state, and national codes and regulations affecting engineering practices.

•Proficiency in Revit MEP and other engineering software.

•Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft O365 and web applications.

•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.

•Capability to prepare detailed specifications and project manuals.

•Experience in cost management and reduction strategies.
