Position Overview
AECOM is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Electrical Engineer with a Professional Engineer (PE) license for our Tampa, FL office. This role is integral to our Building & Places (B+P) division, providing specialized knowledge in building, facility, and site practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering efforts on various building and site projects, particularly mid to large-scale developments.
- Independently manage project-specific design tasks while guiding project staff.
- Engage with clients to present and clarify technical solutions.
- Conduct quality control reviews of designs produced by team members.
- Offer technical insights for studies and design evaluations, benefiting both clients and team members.
- Collaborate with project managers and senior team members to coordinate project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Utilize AutoCAD and Revit for design delivery.
- Mentor junior staff in technical design and professional practices.
- Develop prescriptive and performance-based specifications.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical proposals, including engineering budget estimates and timelines.
- Review relevant permitting agency standards and regulations to ensure compliance in project design and permitting processes.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams within AECOM, including civil, architectural, geotechnical, and landscape professionals, to enhance project value.
- Support site investigations and construction-related activities.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience.
- Current registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer in Florida or eligibility to register for the PE Exam within one year.
- Proven experience in building and facility design projects.
- Experience in preparing calculations and design documentation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Familiarity with electrical and lighting design software such as SKM, Etap, EasyPower, and AGi32.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing projects and teams.
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle records review.
- U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in engineering and building development projects, encompassing all phases from design to construction.
- Experience with local permitting processes and interactions with relevant authorities.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
- Experience with complex projects and construction phase services.
