FAMILY SERVICES SUPERVISOR


We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Family Services Supervisor to enhance our team at Homes for the Homeless (HFH). This role is crucial for our Families with Children facility located in the Jamaica area of Queens, NY.

As the Family Services Supervisor, you will be instrumental in supporting the Director of Family Services with various responsibilities.

Your key duties will include managing essential documentation required by DHS and OTDA, conducting case audits, and collaborating with external agencies to expand referral sources for our staff. Additionally, you may need to handle a caseload during staff shortages.

The Family Services Supervisor will also be involved in the training and onboarding of new personnel.

Homes for the Homeless operates shelters for families facing homelessness in NYC. Our family residences provide more than just shelter; they offer access to a variety of onsite programs designed to support families during their stay. Many of these programs are also available to the local community, aiming to create a lasting positive impact so families can thrive beyond their time in our shelters.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Director of Family Services in the daily management of the program.
  • Oversee the supervision of 88+ cases.
  • Perform case audits.
  • Network with external agencies to enhance the department's referral sources.
  • Manage and maintain various program reports.
  • Ensure critical files required by DHS are up to date.
  • Carry a caseload during staff vacancies.
  • Consult on cases with family service staff.
  • Assist with filing, new intakes, and unit inspections.
  • Train new staff members.
  • Conduct client case conferences.
  • Work effectively with a diverse population.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of one year of supervisory experience.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.

$52,000 - $52,500
