FAMILY SERVICES SUPERVISOR


We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Family Services Supervisor to enhance our operations at Homes for the Homeless (HFH). This role is essential for our Families with Children facility, focusing on delivering exceptional support to families in need.

As the Family Services Supervisor, you will be instrumental in collaborating with the Director of Family Services on various initiatives. Your responsibilities will include overseeing critical documentation required by relevant authorities, conducting thorough case audits, and establishing connections with external organizations to broaden referral options for our staff.

In addition, you will provide guidance and training to new team members, ensuring they are well-equipped to serve our community effectively. Your role may also involve managing a caseload during periods of staff shortages.

Homes for the Homeless operates shelters designed for families facing homelessness in New York City. Our facilities offer more than just temporary accommodation; they provide access to a variety of on-site programs aimed at empowering families to thrive beyond their stay.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Director of Family Services in the daily management of the program.
  • Supervise a caseload of over 88 cases.
  • Perform case audits to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Develop partnerships with external agencies to enhance referral sources.
  • Maintain and manage essential program reports.
  • Ensure the upkeep of critical files mandated by relevant authorities.
  • Handle caseloads in the absence of staff.
  • Consult with family service staff on case matters.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including new intakes and unit inspections.
  • Facilitate training for new employees.
  • Organize client case conferences.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with a diverse population.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of one year of supervisory experience.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred.
