Director of Strategic Planning and Decision Support

The Director of Strategy Planning and Decision Support is a key leadership position at University Medical Center of El Paso, responsible for spearheading the health system's strategic planning and decision-making processes. This role focuses on developing and implementing strategies to position the health plan for success in the El Paso and Hudspeth Region, working closely with the Hospital District Chief Strategy Officer and UMC Strategic Management department to ensure alignment with the overall El Paso County Hospital District (EPCHD) and EPH Strategic Plan.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the health plan strategic planning process, managing project progress throughout its life cycle.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement strategies that enhance patient care, streamline operations, and improve financial performance.
- Utilize advanced analytics and data management to inform decision-making and drive business outcomes.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including hospital district leadership, healthcare providers, and community partners.
- Stay up-to-date on local, regional, and national healthcare trends and developments, applying this knowledge to inform strategic planning and decision-making.
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- Five years of experience in strategic management or business development, preferably in a healthcare or managed care setting.
- A Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Service, or a related discipline. A Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
- Strong project management and leadership skills, with the ability to express ideas fearlessly and vision innovative strategies.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation and group facilitation.
- Knowledge of healthcare analytics and the ability to generate clear and well-written presentations and planning documents quickly.
