Position Overview

The Ladders is on the lookout for a Senior Vice President of Investment Banking to enhance our M&A and capital raising advisory services, particularly within the Aerospace & Defense sector. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in Industrials M&A, demonstrating the ability to make an immediate and significant impact on our team. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with our U.S. Managing Directors and Partners, fostering a collegial and entrepreneurial environment that values teamwork and innovative ideas.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Vice President, you will act as both a business developer and executor, showcasing professional judgment and the capability to manage assignments independently. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Overseeing mandates, leading project teams, and developing expertise in the M&A process.
  • Executing tasks such as drafting documentation for buy-side and sell-side transactions, analyzing industries and companies, and creating client presentations.
  • Building relationships with third-party professional advisors and senior management teams at client companies.
  • Interpreting and presenting financial analyses, company valuations, and M&A-related documentation effectively.
  • Maintaining consistent communication with project teams to monitor the progress of each mandate.
  • Balancing delegation, hands-on work, and supervision effectively.
  • Mentoring Associates and Analysts, facilitating their understanding of the M&A process.
  • Collaborating with the recruiting team to identify and select junior candidates.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A Bachelor’s degree; an MBA is preferred.
  • 2 to 3 years of investment banking experience at the Associate level.
  • Strong professional track record in M&A.
  • Expertise in all phases of project management.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and modeling skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • FINRA Series 79/7 and 63 licenses are required or to be obtained within the first six months of employment.
