About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Care Specialist to join our team at Thrive Pet Healthcare. As a key member of our medical team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support veterinarians in ensuring high-quality veterinary care and advocating for the needs of our patients.
  • Assist with various hospital functions to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
  • Participate in surgeries and procedures, adhering to state Veterinary Practice Act guidelines for credentialed veterinary technicians.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding individualized pet health concerns and provide guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records using practice systems.
  • Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
  • Utilize safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and maintain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to fellow team members.
  • Assist with pre-surgical diagnostics, pack prep, and instrument sterilization.
  • Participate in the cleaning and care of hospital equipment.
Requirements
  • Prefer one year of recent experience in a small animal hospital.
  • Commitment to working within a team environment.
  • Positive, will-do attitude.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a busy work setting.
  • Professional demeanor and outgoing personality.
  • Holds a current Registered/Certified Veterinary Technician license in the state of Georgia.
  • Possesses a passion for animal care.
  • Has a strong veterinary skill set and excellent communication skills.
  • Works well on a team, is dependable, and self-motivated.
  • Possesses exceptional customer service skills.
  • Available to work Saturday and Sunday rotations.
