The Police Dispatchers at the Commonwealth of Virginia play a crucial role in delivering prompt, precise, and courteous communication services to those in need of emergency assistance. Our dispatchers support various law enforcement and governmental agencies, ensuring effective coordination in critical situations.

Essential Qualifications:
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. Required certifications or the ability to obtain them within the first year of employment. Valid driver's license. Clean criminal record with no felony convictions. Proficient in emergency dispatch operations with a strong ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations. Capable of functioning under pressure, interpreting maps, and managing multiple emergency calls simultaneously. Strong analytical skills for maintaining situational awareness. Experience with advanced technological systems is advantageous. Willingness to work in a 24/7 operational environment with rotating shifts. Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in emergency communications or relevant state certifications.
