Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Executive Director for Facilities Operations to join our team at the City of New York. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the facilities operations of the Department of Social Services (DSS) and the Department of Homeless Services (DHS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior management to establish goals and policies for facilities operations.
- Oversee the implementation of policies and procedures, and interpret changes to staff.
- Support the First Assistant Deputy Commissioner in overseeing collaborative efforts between all units within Facilities Operations.
- Propose and implement strategies to improve efficiency of internal procedures.
- Respond to difficult and sensitive programmatic staff inquiries and complaints.
- Oversee the process of collaborative efforts between the divisions of Building Management and Department of Property Management.
- Act on behalf of the First Assistant Deputy Commissioner when s/he is unavailable.
Requirements:
- Eight years of full-time experience in construction, repair, alteration and/or rehabilitation of multiple dwellings, commercial, industrial or public buildings.
- At least 18 months of experience in a supervisory or administrative capacity involving responsibility for a large number of buildings.
