Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Auditor IV to join our team at the Texas State Auditor's Office. As a key member of our audit team, you will be responsible for conducting financial and performance audits of state agencies, institutions of higher education, and other entities that receive state funding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and complete significant aspects of audits, including risk assessments and data analysis.
  • Review IT systems and controls to assess data reliability and security.
  • Prepare and review audit documentation to ensure conformance with auditing standards.
  • Present findings and recommendations to clients and management.
  • Work independently with some guidance from supervisors.

Requirements:

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting, business administration, computer science, or a related field is required. 2-4 years of experience in auditing, information technology/systems auditing, financial analysis, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications and advanced degrees may substitute for one year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in public sector auditing, Single Audit Act federal compliance auditing, cost accounting, budgeting in Texas government, or accounting/business processes is desired. Certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CPA, or other relevant certifications are also preferred.
