Job Overview/Summary: The RMA Caseworker plays a vital role in facilitating services for newly arrived refugee clients, assisting them in achieving self-sufficiency through short-term financial aid and connections to employment resources. This position focuses on the administration of Refugee Medical Assistance services, including client screening, enrollment, monthly financial support, and ongoing follow-up services.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Conducting intake, assessment, and enrollment for a designated group of Refugee Medical Assistance clients.
  • Printing and distributing RMA identification cards.
  • Connecting clients with appropriate referrals to qualified service providers.
  • Collaborating with the Economic Empowerment Supervisor and, if necessary, WTOR to evaluate Cuban Entrants for RMA eligibility.
  • Registering clients in the e-RED system.
  • Referring RMA clients to employment services, ELI services, and other relevant programs.
  • Maintaining case files and reports in compliance with grant stipulations.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related discipline is required.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with proficiency in both written and spoken English. Bilingual capabilities in Spanish are highly desirable; proficiency in Arabic or Dari/Pashto is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving objectives and collaborating effectively with diverse staff in a multicultural setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license, reliable transportation with current insurance, and the ability to travel regularly within the service area.

  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written; proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to utilize digital tools for data entry, research, and problem-solving.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a personal, insured vehicle.
Working Environment:
  • A combination of standard office settings, remote work, and fieldwork within the service delivery area to fulfill the responsibilities outlined above.
  • Occasional travel outside the local area may be required; up to 10%.
  • May necessitate occasional weekend and/or evening work.
