About the Role

As a Medical Support Specialist at Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd, you will play a vital role in supporting plasma center operations. Your primary responsibility will be to determine donor eligibility, ensuring that all necessary protocols are followed to collect high-quality plasma. You will work closely with the Center Manager and Center Physician to provide exceptional customer service and maintain a commitment to quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion.
  • Conduct medical history interviews and physical examinations to ensure donor suitability.
  • Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable test results.
  • Manage donor reactions and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies.
  • Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
  • Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA).
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
  • Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy.
  • Satisfactorily complete the FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
  • Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
