About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Support Specialist to join our team at BioLife Plasma Services. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our donors and patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Donor Eligibility: Accurately determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, medical history interview, and physical examination.
  • Donor Reaction Management: Evaluate and manage donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility, and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies.
  • Donor Deferral: Manage donor deferral; reviews test results and notify donors of unsuitable test results per applicable SOPs.
  • Post Donation Information: Initiation and investigation of Post Donation Information (PDI).
  • Collaboration with Medical Team: Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, problem solving, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues.
Requirements
  • Clinical Experience: Currently licensed or certified in the state where duties will be assigned: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistant (PA).
  • Certifications: Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification required.
  • State Requirements: Fulfillment of state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy.
  • Training: Able to satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.
