Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our Critical Care team at Ethos Veterinary Health. As a critical care specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and working collaboratively with our team of veterinarians and support staff.
Key Responsibilities- Triage incoming patients and provide nursing care to critically ill animals
- Record patient histories and SOAP notes, and maintain accurate medical records
- Provide advanced hospitalization care and continuous rate infusions (CRIs) as needed
- Perform in-house laboratory procedures and skillfully place intravenous (IV) catheters
- Conduct accurate and detailed patient rounds, and safely restrain fractious and frightened patients
- Recognize situations requiring immediate attention from a veterinarian and act as an advocate for both the patient and the client
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clinical experience in the veterinary industry as a Registered Veterinary Technician, or 3 consecutive years of Veterinary Assistant experience in an Emergency Room/Critical Care Unit setting
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with staff and clients
- Proficiency in mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices, estimates, and other related calculations
- Hold or obtain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role (waived if a valid CA-RVT license is held)
- Full-time position with a 4/10 schedule, flexibility required, including some holidays or weekends
- Overnight shift with a $5 paid differential
- Hiring bonus of up to $7,000 for new, full-time employees
