Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency and Critical Care team.
The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care, assist with triage and admission, and work collaboratively with our veterinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Triage and admit emergency cases
- Provide nursing care to critically ill or injured patients
- Demonstrate proficiency in advanced hospitalization care and continuous rate infusions
- Perform in-house laboratory procedures
- Conduct accurate and detailed patient rounds
- Safely restrain fractious and frightened patients
- Obtain temperature, pulse, and respiration measurements and maintain medical records
- Recognize situations requiring immediate attention from a veterinarian
- Act as an advocate for both the patient and client
- High school diploma
- 2+ years of clinical experience in the veterinary industry as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), or 3 consecutive years of Veterinary Assistant experience in an Emergency Room/Critical Care Unit (ER/CCU) setting
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with staff and clients
- Proficiency in mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices, estimates, and other related calculations
- Hold or obtain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role
We offer a competitive hourly rate of $40.00, plus shift differentials and a sign-on bonus up to $5,000.
