Job Summary

Spectrum Healthcare Partners is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team. As a key member of our front office staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our physicians and clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Greets patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring a positive first impression of our practice.
  2. Performs patient check-in and check-out processes, verifying patient information and ensuring accuracy and completeness of records.
  3. Collects copays and outstanding balances, performing daily payment reconciliation and maintaining accurate financial records.
  4. Answers internal and external calls, responding to patient inquiries and providing information as needed.
  5. Utilizes electronic health records for messaging and communication with clinical staff.
  6. Schedules appointments, secures authorizations, and performs pre-authorization tasks as directed by physicians or advanced practice providers.
  7. Manages incoming faxes, documents, and other correspondence, scanning medical records and other required documents into electronic health records.
  8. Performs insurance verification and ensures accurate billing to appropriate insurance for patient encounters.
  9. Maintains open communication with clinical staff to minimize interruptions to provider schedules.
  10. Collects and reconciles charge slips, ensuring accurate and complete billing information.

Requirements:

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Experience in a medical office or similar role in a healthcare organization/ environment.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to interact with patients and staff in a professional and caring manner.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of medical records and ability to maintain confidentiality.
