Position Overview: Clairmont Place is in search of a dedicated, organized, and dependable culinary professional to enhance our dining services team within a nurturing retirement community. This is a full-time role with a structured schedule of five days a week, including evenings and weekends.
Benefits: We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid time off (vacation, sick leave, and personal days), an exceptional Employee Assistance Program providing support for you and your family, health insurance (including vision and dental), paid life insurance, disability coverage, and 401K matching. Employees also enjoy eight paid holidays throughout the year, with double pay for those who work on these days. Our Dining Services team boasts a low turnover rate, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. All culinary staff are required to be ServSafe certified, with benefits available from the first day of employment.
About Clairmont Place: Our community is designed for independent retired adults, complemented by an Assisted Living facility. We pride ourselves on providing contemporary home-style meals in large quantities, with a focus on creating a pleasant dining experience for our residents. The role includes serving meals and participating in various community events such as breakfast chats, cocktail gatherings, ice cream socials, and themed dinner nights.

Dependability for all scheduled shifts is essential. Candidates must demonstrate kindness, integrity, and respect for colleagues while managing their time effectively. A collaborative spirit is crucial, as we emphasize teamwork over individual responsibilities. Adherence to food safety standards is mandatory, given the sensitive nature of our resident population. Proficiency in knife skills is also required. This position offers a balanced work rhythm and the opportunity to be part of a supportive team.
Requirements: Candidates must successfully pass a drug screening and background check. A minimum of five years of experience in a high-volume kitchen is required, and while a culinary degree is advantageous, it is not mandatory.

Reporting Structure: Reports to Shift Lead, Sous Chef, and Department Director.
Safety and Sanitation: Commitment to following departmental safety protocols is essential. Employees must work safely and contribute to a secure environment for all staff. Compliance with food sanitation regulations as dictated by local health authorities is required, and food handler certification is necessary.
Commitment to Quality: Employees are expected to demonstrate a daily commitment to high service standards, fulfill all job responsibilities, and actively participate in team meetings to enhance performance and achieve management goals. A positive attitude and professional conflict resolution skills are essential.
Essential Duties:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items.
