Physiatrist for Integrative Medicine

The Veterans Health Administration is seeking a dedicated full-time Physiatrist specializing in Integrative Pain Management and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) within the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) department.
Eligibility
- This position is open to U.S. Citizens and Nationals.
The selected Physiatrist will be responsible for:
- Developing expertise in a recovery-oriented approach to chronic pain management, utilizing a biopsychosocial model that emphasizes whole-person care.
- Diagnosing and treating patients with acute and chronic pain stemming from various conditions, including musculoskeletal disorders, stroke, spasticity, traumatic brain injury, and post-operative rehabilitation.
- Implementing non-surgical treatment strategies, including non-narcotic medications and non-pharmacological therapies, while being proficient in performing office-based procedures such as joint injections.
- Leading the Polytrauma/TBI clinic, managing a caseload of new patient consultations.
- Providing backup support for the inpatient Rehabilitation Unit as needed.
- Engaging in interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize patient care and enhance quality of life for Veterans.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory standards.

Qualifications
To qualify for this role, candidates must possess:
- A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
- A current, unrestricted medical license to practice in the United States.
- Completion of residency training in an accredited specialty program.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Board certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with a focus on Pain Management and TBI is highly desirable.

This position requires the ability to perform various physical tasks, including lifting and prolonged standing, while also engaging in critical thinking and problem-solving in a dynamic healthcare setting.
