Position Overview:
The Veterans Health Administration is seeking a dedicated full-time Physiatrist specializing in Integrative Pain Medicine and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) within the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) service.

Qualifications:
To be eligible for this role, candidates must fulfill the following Basic Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required; non-citizens may only be appointed when qualified citizens are unavailable.
  • A degree in medicine or osteopathic medicine from an accredited institution.
  • A current, unrestricted medical license to practice in any U.S. State, Territory, or the District of Columbia.

Residency Training:
Candidates must have completed residency training in an accredited core specialty program that qualifies for board certification.

Preferred Qualifications:
Board certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with experience in Pain Management and TBI.

Physical and Mental Requirements:
This position requires occasional lifting, prolonged standing, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment. Mental capabilities include reasoning, problem-solving, and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities:
The Physiatrist will:

  • Develop expertise in recovery-oriented practices for chronic pain management, utilizing a biopsychosocial approach.
  • Provide comprehensive evaluations and create interdisciplinary rehabilitation plans for patients with various conditions, including musculoskeletal issues, stroke, and TBI.
  • Utilize non-surgical treatment options and be proficient in office-based procedures such as joint injections.
  • Lead the Polytrauma/TBI medical team and provide backup support for inpatient rehabilitation services.

Compensation and Benefits:
The Veterans Health Administration offers a competitive salary, annual performance bonuses, and generous paid time off, including:
