CNC Mill Machinist Overview:

CNC Mill Machinist Position Summary:
We are seeking a proficient CNC Mill Machinist to leverage your skills on sophisticated machinery. The ideal candidate will manage intricate projects utilizing Haas vertical/5 axis and DMG Mori horizontal machines. This role involves the production of high-quality, complex components crafted from aluminum, plastic, and steel, demonstrating your precision and expertise across a variety of tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate CNC Horizontal and Vertical machines, particularly Haas UMC 750 5-axis and Mori DMG Horizontal.
  • Execute MDI (Manual Data Input) programming to enhance part production efficiency.
  • Conduct manual inspections using gauges and instruments to ensure part quality prior to submission to the Quality Department for CMM inspection.
  • Comprehend GD&T and interpret intricate 2-D drawings.
  • Monitor and assess parts throughout the machining process.
  • Adhere to company quality and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot technical challenges.
  • Engage in Lean manufacturing initiatives to optimize processes.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of CNC Mills machine set-up experience is essential.
  • Aerospace industry experience is mandatory.
  • 5-axis set-up experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Haas and/or Mori DMG machines is necessary.
  • Experience working with various materials, including aluminum, plastic, and steel.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints is required.
  • Experience with manual inspection using gauges and instruments to support CMM inspection by the Quality Department.
  • A strong work ethic and meticulous attention to detail are crucial.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required.
  • Proficient in working effectively within a fast-paced team environment.
  • Capable of managing sensitive and sometimes confidential information.
  • Good communication skills are essential for effective teamwork.
