Position Overview

We are seeking a CNC Machine Operator Trainee to join our team, working either the 1st shift from 5AM to 1PM or the 2nd shift from 1PM to 9PM, Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Production Lead, the Operator will:

  • Receive training to operate Computer Numerical Control (CNC) lathes and mills.
  • Learn to perform machine setups, adjusting parameters such as speeds, feeds, and cutting depths according to specified drawings.
  • Utilize basic inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, sine plates, etc.) to verify that machined parts meet specifications.
  • Interpret blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical documents to ascertain tooling needs, setup procedures, control settings, and machining methods.
  • Securely mount, align, and fasten tooling, attachments, and workpieces on the machine.
  • Load programs into machines or input commands to access preprogrammed instructions from the database.
  • Engage in discussions with supervisors regarding programming enhancements to address issues or improve operational efficiency.
  • Maintain cleanliness of machines, tools, and parts.
  • Conduct routine machine maintenance.
  • Ensure the work area and other facility locations are kept tidy, adhering to 5S principles.
  • Assist in various plant functions under the direct supervision of the shop team lead as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to enhance departmental or company performance.
  • Regularly exert 10 to 25 pounds of force and up to 10 pounds of force consistently to move objects.
  • Be prepared for potential long hours and weekend work due to production demands.
  • Prior experience with CNC Haas lathes is advantageous.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • The ability to set up cutting tools and validate new programs using setup sheets.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with CNC lathes and mills.
