Position Overview

The East Bay Community Law Center (EBCLC) is a prominent non-profit legal services organization dedicated to advancing racial justice and equity. As a significant provider of free legal services in Alameda County, EBCLC is seeking a Human Resources Manager to oversee the daily operations of the HR department. This role is pivotal in supporting the organization’s mission through effective human resource management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Human Resources Administration: Act as the primary contact for staff inquiries regarding HR policies and ensure compliance with employment laws.
  • Employee Relations: Manage employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and performance management.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Administer employee benefits programs and oversee payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Training and Development: Coordinate the performance evaluation process and maintain a comprehensive training calendar for staff development.
  • Recruitment: Lead the recruitment process, ensuring alignment with the organization’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Onboarding and Offboarding: Supervise the onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires and departing employees.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources within a non-profit environment.
  • Proven supervisory experience and strong knowledge of HR practices.
  • Commitment to racial equity and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
