About the Role:

The Retail Sales Associate will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer experiences and driving sales growth at Blick Art Materials. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for maintaining a high level of customer service, generating revenue through product knowledge, and ensuring a visually appealing store environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consistently deliver superior customer service by combining sales, product knowledge, and other skills training in all in-store departments to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Complete and utilize various programs, including Blick Onboarding Training, Blick Sales Training, and Design Center Training, to enhance product knowledge and sales skills.
  • Display an energetic and positive attitude with all customer interactions, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive store environment.
  • Assist in the coordination of merchandise set-ups, maintain visual standards, and implement store displays as directed by store management.
  • Follow directions and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines with minimal supervision, ensuring efficient store operations.
  • Understand and act on procedures for reporting low stock levels, inventory discrepancies, and customer product requests to management as needed.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, with excellent communication skills.
  • Availability to work flexible schedules, including day/evening shifts and holidays, as required by the needs of the business.
  • Regular attendance in accordance with the retail attendance policy.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds while using the appropriate lifting techniques and following all safety rules.
  • Prolonged walking, standing, and climbing ladders.

Travel:

  • Minimal travel in the local area may be required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • 6 months of previous retail, sales, and/or customer service experience.
