Position Summary:

The Construction Equipment Technician is responsible for diagnosing, cleaning, inspecting, and maintaining heavy machinery and support equipment in a safe and professional manner.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Identify mechanical issues using diagnostic software such as Cat E.T. and Volvo Prosis/Tech tool.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on heavy machinery, including hydraulic, braking, electrical systems, transmissions, and engines, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Replace components such as bearings, engines, cylinders, and screens as necessary.
  • Perform overhauls on equipment like loaders, excavators, sweepers, and grinders.
  • Interpret vehicle condition reports (VCR) and daily driver vehicle inspection reports (DVIR) from operators.
  • Communicate effectively with equipment users and supervisors regarding issues and preventative measures.
  • Complete all required documentation related to vehicle repairs and parts usage.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to foster a family-oriented work environment.
  • Participate in all mandatory company meetings, including weekly safety discussions.
  • Maintain consistent and punctual attendance in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Adapt to changing responsibilities based on business needs.

Your Qualifications:

  • Proven experience using necessary safety equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Two years of experience as an equipment operator mechanic in a plant setting, or five years of related experience with training in a plant environment.
  • Valid driver's license and medical certification.
