Oncology Nurse Residency Program

This is a compensated nurse residency initiative designed for graduates of an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program, who possess less than one year of nursing experience and demonstrate a keen interest in caring for oncology patients.

Exceptional candidates will be evaluated for this distinguished program.

Various specialty departments are currently seeking applicants, including Medical Oncology, Surgical Oncology, Surgical Step Down, and Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Outline the experiences that qualify you for consideration in the Nurse Residency Program. Include all relevant academic, personal, work experiences, and electives related to nursing.

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, implementing, and evaluating the care required by assigned patients under the supervision of a licensed physician. The RN is well-versed in the principles, theories, current methodologies, and techniques of nursing practice.

Employing the nursing process, the RN collaborates with the patient, their family members/significant others, professional colleagues, and other healthcare team members to tailor patient care.

The RN directs nursing support personnel in delivering patient care in accordance with established nursing standards, administrative, and departmental policies and procedures.

A Pennsylvania Registered Nurse License is mandatory within two months of hire. Candidates must have less than 12 months of experience as an RN to be eligible for application.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school (Mandatory)
Licenses and Certifications

  • RN-LIC - Pennsylvania Registered Nurse License (Mandatory)
  • BLS - Basic Life Support Certification (Mandatory)
