Role Overview
As an Oncology Clinical Research Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in the coordination and facilitation of clinical research protocols. These protocols may be supported by various entities including NCI, industry partners, cooperative groups, or through grant funding and investigator-initiated studies.
Key Responsibilities
Your leadership will be essential in managing and operating clinical research protocols to ensure:
- Effective recruitment and accrual of research participants
- Adherence to protocol compliance
- Safety of research participants
- High-quality data collection
You will collaborate closely with the clinical research team to develop efficient tools for monitoring and reporting trial accrual, as well as coordinating the timely activation of studies and submission of protocol amendments.
Collaboration and Communication
This position requires regular interaction with institutional investigators, healthcare team members, service line staff, and research participants and their families. Your approach should foster a supportive environment for the conduct of clinical trials.
Work Schedule
Flexibility in your work schedule is important to ensure comprehensive coverage of study responsibilities.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (Required)
Graduate Level Classes or Degree in a relevant field (Preferred)
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years as a Clinical Research Nurse (Preferred)
Minimum of 2 years in nursing with a focus on oncology (Preferred)
Minimum of 2 years experience with oncology clinical trials (Preferred)
General knowledge and experience in chemotherapy administration (Preferred)
Licenses/Certifications:
RN-LIC - PA Registered Nurse License (Required)
ONCC - Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (Preferred)
CCRP - Certified Clinical Research Professional (Preferred)
