Shift Details:
This position offers a Hybrid work model (3 days in the office and 2 days remote).

Job Summary:


The Absence Management Coordinator is responsible for managing and facilitating leave requests and accommodations that require specialized handling, particularly those related to the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and various state and local leave regulations, as well as short-term and long-term disability plans.

This role will collaborate with various teams within the People Solutions Department, including PS Operations, Compensation & Benefits, Workers' Compensation, Employee Relations, and Health & Wellness.


Travel required:
Less than 10%.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:


Oversees the administration of sick leave, Family and Medical Leave (FMLA), parental leave, short and long-term disability, military leave, and personal leave of absences.

Ensures that leave programs are implemented equitably across the organization.

Completes necessary actions in the Dayforce lifecycle transactions as required by established policies, regulations, and laws; analyzes utilization trends from tracking reports and dashboards.

Handles employee inquiries through our service management system.

Monitors all phases of the leave process.

Documents, audits, and requests necessary documentation for eligibility or updates as mandated by established policies and procedures.

Coordinates with benefits and payroll teams to ensure seamless integration.

Provides support and collaborates with staff regarding leave of absences and related programs.

Maintains communication with the People Solutions team, employees, third-party administrators, and managers throughout the leave process concerning eligibility, approval, low balance, return-to-work procedures, and extensions.

Develops and generates reports to assess and analyze utilization and other trends.

Assists with Workers' Compensation claims/process until Injury Counselors are established. This role will continue to provide support to the Injury Counselors as needed.

Additional Functions:
Uphold and promote the Core Values and Mission Statement of MVP.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.

Attention to detail is crucial; must be able to organize, prioritize, multitask, and remain focused in a dynamic environment.

Exceptional customer service skills are essential.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.

A minimum of 3-5+ years of experience in leave of absence administration.

Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
