The role of a Youth Support Specialist is integral to our Youth & Family Services department. This position focuses on empowering youth by assisting them with daily living tasks, implementing personalized goals, maintaining accurate documentation, promoting healthy lifestyle choices, and providing transportation for appointments and community activities.

- Deliver trauma-informed care and supervision to youth, ensuring a nurturing environment that fosters development and safety while adhering to facility standards.
- Engage with multi-system youth aged 9-21 in a specialized setting.
- Encourage healthy, professional relationships with youth during daily activities, both within the facility and in the community.
- Participate in all service components, including referral and intake, assessment, service planning, and discharge.
- Complete necessary documentation promptly and accurately, in line with governing policies.
- Proactively manage crises using approved behavior management techniques, including de-escalation and conflict resolution strategies.
- Provide transportation for appointments in accordance with agency policies.
- Adhere to all licensing regulations and agency policies regarding behavior management and staff training.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA and privacy laws.
- Potential travel for in-person training sessions.
- Direct interaction with youth involved with child protective services, particularly those at risk of commercial sexual exploitation.
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, with frequent lifting of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
- May require long periods of standing and walking.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Understanding of child and adolescent development.
- Experience working directly with youth is preferred.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Valid driver's license is necessary.
