Extension Educator, 4-H Youth Development Specialist

Penn State University is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as an Extension Educator in the 4-H Youth Development program. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing educational programs, materials, and activities that promote positive youth development and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement educational programs and materials that align with the 4-H Youth Development program's goals and objectives.
- Recruit, train, and support adult volunteers to deliver programs and activities to youth.
- Promote the 4-H program to retain current members and recruit new and diverse youth audiences.
- Provide leadership and coordination for efforts that harmonize urban and rural populations, including local food production and promotion, economic development, and community engagement.
- Work with the County 4-H Program Development Committee to plan and implement the local program, including fundraising and budgeting.
- Provide effective communication and support to volunteers, youth, and parents to ensure a quality experience.
- Foster relationships and develop partnerships with other youth-serving groups, schools, and organizations.
- Coordinate registration, supervision, and transportation for participants in 4-H youth events.
- Implement program evaluation, documentation, and reporting.
- Provide administrative oversight to 4-H volunteers, youth, and clubs to ensure policy and procedural expectations are followed.
- Manage funds raised in the name of 4-H at the club and county levels.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field, such as youth development, agriculture, education, or a closely related field.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in 4-H or a similar youth development program.
- Strong teaching, program development, and evaluation skills.
- Positive human relations and effective communication skills necessary to work effectively with youth, parents, leaders, government officials, and the general public.
- Ability to carry equipment and educational materials and supplies, with or without accommodation.
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
- Clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
- Valid driver's license and use of a private vehicle.
- Competitive salary range: $42,000 - $61,000.
