Role Summary: IP Operations Specialist (Contractor)
This position offers an exciting opportunity in a dynamic environment, collaborating with IP Operations to support the broader IP Group and manage all aspects of the global patent portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Extensive knowledge of patent prosecution, including experience with patent docketing systems, tools, and public databases.
  • Ability to analyze data using Excel and distill large volumes of information into clear recommendations for next steps.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with attorneys, outside counsel, inventors, and other business partners to monitor and enhance performance, including identifying, developing, implementing, and enforcing policies and process improvements.
  • Track critical objectives and coordinate across functions to ensure strategic and financial goals are met, including billing and budget management.
  • Refine and develop key operational metrics to support decision-making, including reporting on the team's core IP strategies and initiatives.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing tools to optimize workflows within the IP Group, including researching legal tools, evaluating service proposals, and finalizing contracts.
  • Demonstrate independent and strategic thinking with proven interpersonal skills, effectively managing conflicting priorities and proposing continuous improvements to patent prosecution practices.

Location: Hybrid, with on-site work at headquarters three days per week and flexibility for remote work.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of patent-specific legal experience with a Bachelor's Degree or Paralegal Certificate.
  • Preferred experience in patent prosecution at a large law firm or in-house corporation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Inclusive mindset, adapting style to diverse global norms.
  • Avid learner, approaching challenges with curiosity and resilience, seeking data to enhance understanding.

Contract Position: W-2 Contract position through Eastridge MSP.

Compensation and Benefits
The pay range below applies to all roles at this level across all US locations and functions. Individual pay rates depend on various factors, including the role's function and location, as well as the individual's knowledge, skills, experience, education, and training.
