Plant Manager Foundry Leader

At Vesuvius USA, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Manager Foundry to lead our foundry operations. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing the operations strategy, ensuring the efficient management of employees and associated process aspects of safety, quality, maintenance, engineering, planning, and production.
Key Responsibilities:- Safety and Health: Develop and manage the site safety improvement plan, implement and respect Group Safety standards, policies, and programs, control overtime work to avoid Health & Safety issues, and manage interactions with external authorities.
- Quality: Guarantee customer satisfaction through high standards of product quality and 'right first time' attitude, implement and respect Group Quality standards, policies, and programs, and lead cross-functional teams to rapidly resolve quality issues and improve product performance through 8D methodology.
- Performance: Ensure daily performance, actively manage the performance improvement of the plant through the deployment of SQCDP KPIs, utilization of roadmaps to drive continuous improvement action plans, workshops, and actions plans to reduce waste and process variability and improve flexibility, and cooperate with support functions.
- Workforce Development: Develop a highly motivated and performing workforce, develop a training plan to continuously improve technical skills and understanding of 5S, work standardization, visual management, waste elimination, problem-solving, implement standard organization, actively coach to develop team management skills and use of methodology, and ensure proper succession planning is in place.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Supply Chain Management, or relevant field.
- 10 years as a manufacturing operations leader in a medium volume, high mix flow process or value-added distribution environment. Experience with the foundry industry is preferred.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills, excellent communication, motivation, and interpersonal skills, ability to drive change and work within a dynamic environment.
- Experience in managing a unionized workforce.
- Strong background with Lean concepts and related disciplines.
- Must be fluent in English; competent in Spanish or German considered a plus.
- University degree, mechanical engineering background preferred.
- Certified oral and written proficiency in English language.
- Min 8-year-experience in manufacturing, in shop floor management positions, preferably in companies with strong industrial excellence background.
- Good exposure to Lean manufacturing principles and techniques.
- Solid experience of Problem Solving Methodologies (8D).
- HSE & ISO 9000 & 14000 Knowledge.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to build high-performing teams.
- Good communication and a team player to work effectively with other departments.
- Confident, well-organized, capable of working under pressure.
- Good negotiation skills particularly with Labor Union.
- Excellent skills to detect, expose, and solve problems.
- Strong customer orientation.
- Strong degree of Emotional Intelligence.
