Washington Policy Center (WPC) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan think tank dedicated to advancing free-market solutions that enhance lives and empower communities throughout Washington. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Director of Development to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with major donors, corporations, and foundations to secure significant funding for WPC's mission.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies, including annual giving, planned giving, and major gifts.
  • Lead a team of development professionals to achieve fundraising goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Oversee event planning and execution, including logistics, budgeting, and audience experience.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as nonprofit management, business, or communications.
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful fundraising experience, with a proven track record of securing major gifts and corporate partnerships.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with donors, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Proficiency in fundraising CRMs/databases and event management software.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of fundraising experience, with a strong track record of success in annual campaigns, portfolio management, and event planning.
  • Expertise in planned giving, including bequests, trusts, and annuities.
  • Fundraising certification, such as CFRE, or professional memberships that demonstrate a long-term commitment to the field.
  • Experience in leading teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
