Position Overview

The Senior Solutions Engineer will oversee the entire lifecycle of firmware utilized in infrastructure components (such as chassis and racks), from conception to ongoing support.

This role involves collaborating with a team of solutions and systems engineers to effectively comprehend customer needs and contribute to the design, execution, testing, and launch of these products.

This individual will spearhead the assessment and integration of solutions that facilitate the incorporation of infrastructure products into client data center operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Draft and evaluate requirements, functional specifications, design documents, testing plans, and other technical materials.
  • Conduct system concept assessments and prototype builds for performance measurements (benchmarking, power metrics, etc.).
  • Create Linux/BASH shell scripts, as well as Perl and Python packages to assist in testing and deployment across various environments.
  • Install and configure operating systems and software stacks on server platforms.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of intricate system challenges.
Qualifications

Possess a profound understanding of server products, including technologies such as server BIOS (using OS-level tools for CMOS adjustments), BMC (utilizing IPMI standards and OEM-specific commands), RAID/HBA controllers (like LSI MegaCLI/SAS2FLASH, PMC/Adaptec arcconf, Intel), Intel 10GB, Mellanox Infiniband, PDUs, and deployment/management tools.

Familiarity with cloud/big data software stack models and experience in provisioning/deployment of open standard software stacks.


Comprehension of contemporary network technologies:
Cisco Nexus, Arista, Quanta, SFP+ Twinax, Fiber Optics, Cisco CDP

Proficiency in scripting/automation languages:
BASH, SQL, Expect, Python, Ruby
Analytical problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
Strong accountability in meeting deadlines and driving issue resolution.
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in application/system development and design of computer servers or related equipment intended for deployment in data center environments.
