POSITION OVERVIEW

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic plays a crucial role in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy construction machinery and equipment. This position entails working under challenging arctic conditions to ensure optimal performance and safety of all equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct thorough inspections of heavy machinery to identify malfunctions.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools such as CAT ET, Cummins INSITE, and Volvo Prosis effectively.
  • Perform repairs on electronic systems and after-treatment components.
  • Service and repair heavy construction equipment including bulldozers, cranes, dump trucks, and more.
  • Adjust, repair, and replace various systems including engines, fuel systems, hydraulics, and transmissions.
  • Disassemble and reassemble machinery parts using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks, including lubrication and oil changes, as per maintenance schedules.
  • Operate machinery to assess functionality and ensure efficient operation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools and workspaces.
  • Manage inventory of supplies and equipment effectively.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures consistently.
  • Promote a culture of safety and accountability in all work practices.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • At least three (3) years of experience in industrial maintenance as a mechanic.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in the North Slope region.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • Completion of North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Possession of a Class A commercial driver's license with a valid US DOT medical card.
  • Five (5) years of mechanic experience in industrial maintenance is preferred.
  • Experience with diesel generators and mobile equipment is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with the oil and gas sector and arctic work environments is a plus.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
