Position Overview
The Service Operations Specialist (SOS) plays a pivotal role within the Global Service Department, tasked with supporting the service team through precise, timely, and comprehensive quoting and proposal creation. This role requires a solid understanding of Haarslev's machinery and spare components to effectively address both customer and organizational needs. Proficiency in utilizing software systems to troubleshoot equipment, generate technical and spare parts solutions, and maintain customer data is essential.
You will report to the Customer Service Manager and collaborate with the Global Service team.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate recommended spare parts lists for Commercial and Projects divisions.
- Respond to customer inquiries via phone, gathering necessary information, identifying suitable solutions, and implementing action plans to resolve issues.
- Provide technical guidance and expertise to customers, Global Service team members, and Sales personnel.
- Conduct in-depth research to address complex customer needs.
- Adhere to the Service Delivery Process.
- Prepare quotes and proposals for Haarslev equipment and spare parts.
- Maintain and update data related to customer installations.
- Communicate necessary updates to Haarslev parts manuals and schematics.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures and Preventative Maintenance Plans.
- Contribute to the creation of documentation and drawings for both new and existing products.
- Assist in transitioning documentation from outdated database systems to current platforms.
- Engage in basic engineering and estimation of aftermarket retrofit/upgrade kits.
- Interpret CAD drawings, manuals, and machine breakdowns.
We are seeking a Service Operations Specialist who:
- Possesses a bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Has knowledge or experience in rendering or food processing, preferably in an OEM context.
- Exhibits excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Is proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Sage 100 is advantageous.
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Has a keen attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills, and a commitment to accuracy; possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with technical aptitude and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Is adaptable and capable of managing changing conditions effectively.
- Is willing to be on call after hours as required.
- Is self-sufficient in the role and has a strong desire for career advancement within the organization.
