About the Role

Xcelerate Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Personnel Security Specialist to support our full range of background investigation and adjudications services. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our Personnel Security Program Managers to conduct thorough background investigations and provide expert analysis to ensure compliance with Executive Orders, Security Executive Agent Directives, and Federal Investigative Standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct complex security assessment investigations, reviewing and analyzing various types of interviews and information.
  • Provide expert research and analysis into complex problems and processes related to personnel security.
  • Support project teams as an expert in personnel security, reviewing and analyzing requests for investigations and preparing detailed analyses and recommendations.
  • Ensure all relevant information and justification is developed and properly considered in accordance with security policies and regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree with two (2) years' experience or associate degree with four (4) years' experience, or eight (8) years federal, state, local or military law enforcement experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree or 16 (sixteen) years in lieu of a master's degree.
  • Three (3) years of experience in the personnel security investigative or investigative analyst field.
  • Experience conducting and interpreting database checks and credit reports.
  • Experience performing routine office administrative support functions.
  • Demonstrated analytical ability to critically review and analyze various types of incoming material and investigative reports.
  • Current TS security clearance and ability to obtain SCI access with a security CI polygraph exam.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience developing and writing Reports of Investigation.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with Federal LE and IC IT systems, commercial and Federal Government database systems, and database searches for personnel security matters.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of DOJ and FBI regulations regarding the personnel security process.
  • Experience conducting interviews and security briefings, discussing analysis and opinion in a concise, logical, and objective manner.
  • Thorough knowledge of indices systems, record check systems, and file review processes.
  • Demonstrated understanding of security-related/investigative guidelines, including Federal Investigative Standards, Security Executive Agent Directives, Executive Orders, and U.S. Code of Federal Regulations.
