Acute Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Acute Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our team at Ochsner Health System. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and work collaboratively with residents, fellows, attendings, and staff to deliver high-quality medical services.
Responsibilities- Provide primary and urgent medical management, emergency stabilization of critically ill patients, and teaching of residents and medical students.
- Assume responsibility for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of medical and nursing care.
- Collaborate with PCCs, staff nurses, and discharge coordinators to ensure seamless patient care.
- Develop and implement education programs for patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Stay up-to-date with current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory agency requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant medicine or Health Sciences, or graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Training Program.
- Master's degree in Nursing.
- State of Louisiana License as a Physician Assistant, NCCPA Certified, and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) / Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
- Eligible for Louisiana Prescriptive Authority as outlined by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.
- Current License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of practice.
- 3 years' related working experience.
The incumbent works in a patient care area, works in an area where patients enter, works directly with patients, and/or works with specimens that could contain communicable diseases.
There may be an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.
Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time, stoop, bend, reach, and grab with arms and hands, and manual dexterity.
