We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our team at Ochsner Health System. As a collaborative care specialist, you will work closely with residents, fellows, attendings, and staff to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic hospital medicine setting.
Key Responsibilities- Provide primary and urgent medical management, emergency stabilization of critically ill patients, and teaching of residents and medical students.
- Collaborate with PCCs, staff nurses, and discharge coordinators to plan, implement, and evaluate medical and nursing care.
- Assume responsibility for patient education, discharge planning, and staff development and education.
- Utilize approved medical practices processes in the delivery of patient care.
- Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant medicine or Health Sciences.
- Current License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of practice.
- Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner ANCC or AANPCP Certified.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) / Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
- Eligible for Prescriptive Authority in the state of practice as outlined by the State Board of Nursing or Medical Examiners.
- 3 years' related working experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Proficient with Windows-style applications and various software packages specific to role.
