Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of our nursing practice.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account patient preferences and values.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions between care settings.
- Conduct health education and promotion activities to empower patients and families to take an active role in their healthcare.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and optimize care delivery.
- Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of practice.
- Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner ANCC or AANPCP Certified.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) / Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
- Eligible for Prescriptive Authority in the state of practice as outlined by the State Board of Nursing.
- 3 years' related working experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
This position requires the ability to work in a patient care area, with potential exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue. The incumbent must be able to stand for prolonged periods, stoop, bend, reach, and grab with arms and hands, and have manual dexterity.
