Acute Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

Ochsner Health System is seeking a highly skilled Acute Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our team in a collaborative care model. This role will work closely with residents, fellows, attendings, and staff to provide exceptional patient care in emergency medicine settings.
Key Responsibilities- Provide primary and urgent medical management, emergency stabilization of critically ill patients, and teaching of residents and medical students.
- Collaborate with PCCs, staff nurses, and discharge coordinators to plan, implement, and evaluate medical and nursing care.
- Assume responsibility for patient education, discharge planning, and staff development and education.
- Utilize approved medical practices processes in the delivery of patient care.
- Master's degree in Nursing or Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant medicine or Health Sciences.
- Current License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of practice or License as a Physician Assistant in the state of practice.
- NCCPA Certified or ANCC or AANPCP Certified.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) / Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
- 3 years' related working experience.
- Eligible for Prescriptive Authority in the state of practice as outlined by the State Board of Medical Examiners or State Board of Nursing.
The incumbent works in a patient care area, works in an area where patients enter, works directly with patients, and/or works with specimens that could contain communicable diseases. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.
