Ochsner Health System is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our team of healthcare professionals. As a collaborative care specialist, you will work closely with residents, fellows, attendings, and staff to provide high-quality patient care in an outpatient clinic setting.
Key Responsibilities- Provide primary and urgent medical management, emergency stabilization of critically ill patients, and teaching of residents and medical students.
- Develop and implement medical and nursing care plans in collaboration with the PCCs, staff nurses, and discharge coordinator.
- Assume responsibility for patient education and discharge planning.
- Stay up-to-date with current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory agency requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant medicine or Health Sciences, or graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Training Program.
- Master's degree in nursing.
- License as a Physician Assistant in the state of practice, NCCPA Certified, Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) / Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
- Eligible for Prescriptive Authority in the state of practice as outlined by the State Board of Medical Examiners.
- Current License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of practice.
- 3 years' related working experience.
The incumbent works in a patient care area, works in an area where patients enter, works directly with patients, and/or works with specimens that could contain communicable diseases. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.
