Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the complete demographic and insurance intake process, ensuring accurate and timely registration of patients.
  • Schedule patients and verify their insurance coverage, providing excellent customer service and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Orient patients to the center and coordinate additional patient services as needed, demonstrating a commitment to patient satisfaction.
  • Support other center team members by answering phones, assisting customers, and fulfilling cross-trained responsibilities, promoting a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling status, identifying and addressing potential problems to ensure seamless operations.
  • Process patient pre-registration, registration, insurance verification, and scheduling in accordance with center standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide administrative support, including answering phones, confirming appointments, and handling insurance requirements, photocopying, typing, faxing, and inventory management.
  • Ensure timely completion of medical record setup, maintenance, and discharge, adhering to center guidelines and promoting accurate and efficient record-keeping.
  • Process monthly patient satisfaction questionnaires, analyzing feedback to identify areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient experience.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, achieving stated goals and promoting a positive reputation for Spaulding Rehab.
  • Record insurance approvals and documentation in the medical record and computer system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with center standards.
  • Enter and reconcile therapy charges as assigned, maintaining accurate financial records and promoting efficient billing processes.
  • Participate in additional department, organization, or network activities, contributing to established objectives and promoting a culture of excellence.

Requirements
  • High school graduate required; Associates degree preferred.
  • Two years of experience in a medical/physicians office setting and/or experience with insurance benefits preferred.
  • Computer proficiency required; Microsoft office applications preferred with ability to learn new software.
  • Highly developed communications and interpersonal skills, working with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work independently, be self-directed, and contribute as a member of a team.
  • Anticipates challenges and develops and implements strategies for addressing them.
  • High level of service delivery, demonstrating initiative with ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing situations.
  • Attention to detail.
