Medical Office Assistant

The Medical Office Technician is a vital member of the patient care team at Lexington Medical Center. As a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA), you will provide direct and indirect patient care under the direction of a Provider. Your responsibilities will include patient intake, documentation, vaccine and medication administration, clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks. You will also assist with appointment scheduling and maintaining medical record documentation in the EPIC EHR system as required. Additionally, you may serve as a provider's scribe as needed.
Essential Functions- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide excellent patient care.
- Record patient data and observations accurately and in accordance with credentials.
- Provide safety measures in accordance with office standards.
- Recognize and respond to safety concerns to prevent injury.
- Prepare patients for departure by reinforcing patient instructions and education.
- Manage medications according to LMC policy and procedures.
- Enter pertinent information into the EPIC system.
- Verify accuracy of patient chart information and initiate corrective action when necessary.
- Schedule physician appointments and arrange for patient referrals as requested.
- Demonstrate knowledge and effective use of medical terminology.
- Maintain established stock levels of clerical supplies.
