About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team at Midland States Bank. As a key member of our recruitment team, you will be responsible for implementing effective recruiting strategies to attract and select top talent to join our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruitment and Sourcing: Assess, source, and screen candidates to ensure a diverse and high-quality pipeline of talent.
  • Candidate Experience: Conduct interviews using various reliable recruiting and selection tools and methods to provide an outstanding experience for all candidates.
  • Business Insight: Maintain knowledge of business line performance expectations and effectively apply this knowledge to execute sourcing plans.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Consistently influence the sourcing and hiring of high-quality talent by embedding diversity and inclusion into the process.
  • Networking and Partnerships: Source and recruit diverse candidates by using a variety of networks, social media, and other strategies to reach passive candidates as well as those actively searching for jobs.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships to increase the numbers of candidates in the recruiting pipeline and successful hires.
  • Market Intelligence: Identify recruiting trends and needs through internal and external monitoring.
  • Research and Analysis: Research candidates and positions to ensure accurate and informed decision-making.
  • Industry Knowledge: Network through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups, and other relevant organizations to stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
  • Training and Development: Assist with preparing hiring managers to utilize assessment tools and behavioral interviews, and develop and deliver training to hiring managers and business unit leaders on talent acquisition topics, trends, and processes.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Partner and communicate with Hiring Managers and HR consistently throughout the recruitment life cycle.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in the recruitment field, with a minimum of 2 years' experience in working with an applicant tracking system (ATS) and proactively sourcing and cold-calling active and passive candidates.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal, counseling, and conflict resolution skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, and knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity and affirmative action requirements regarding hiring practices.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Financial services industry experience and experience working with external recruiters.
