VC5 Consulting is looking for a skilled Systems Administrator with extensive experience in VMWare, backup solutions, and recovery strategies. The successful candidate will possess a minimum of five years of practical experience in managing intricate IT environments, ensuring optimal system reliability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Server Management:

  • Oversee and maintain server hardware and software, including Exchange, Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, VMware, and Storage Area Networks (SAN).
  • Ensure all servers are equipped with the latest security updates and software enhancements.

Backup and Disaster Recovery:

  • Design, implement, and oversee backup and disaster recovery protocols.
  • Guarantee the integrity of backups and the replication of servers to offsite locations for disaster recovery purposes.
  • Conduct disaster recovery testing at designated sites and provide comprehensive reports on the outcomes, identifying and rectifying any deficiencies in recovery procedures.

System Performance and Security:

  • Continuously monitor and evaluate system performance, performing necessary tuning and troubleshooting to avert outages.
  • Uphold network security, ensuring adherence to established security policies and procedures.
  • Respond to and recover from system-wide outages, restoring services to operational levels.

Technical Support:

  • Assist with all help desk inquiries that arise.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors to resolve server and backup-related issues.
  • Exhibit a willingness to learn new technologies and enhance skills continuously.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Produce regular reports on system performance, backup status, and incidents.

Performance Metrics:

  1. Ensure timely response to and recovery from system-related production interruptions across various hardware platforms and operating systems.
  2. Identify opportunities to enhance services to the company and its clients through the adoption of new products and technologies.
  3. Anticipate risks to system security and integrity, implementing appropriate safeguards.
  4. Regularly maintain and update system users, user environments, and directories.
  5. Deliver friendly, professional, and accurate service and support to all team members and associates.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in system administration.

Education:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Familiarity with Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering regulations is a plus.

Technical Proficiencies:

  • Expertise in Microsoft server installation and administration.
  • In-depth knowledge of administering Exchange servers.
  • Proficient in supporting, implementing, and managing Microsoft Windows Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Working knowledge of VMware ESXi.
  • Familiarity with SAN and various backup software solutions.
  • Experience in deploying Windows patches.
