Position: Applications System Manager

Compensation: $125,000 - $225,000 (Depending on Experience)


POSITION SUMMARY:

The Applications System Manager is tasked with delivering strategic leadership and vision across the enterprise in the design and execution of the organization's information technology solutions.

This role involves anticipating the requirements for application support resources by collaborating with the IT team, empowering the user community to develop the necessary application expertise to support ongoing and future business operations, effectively managing project plans, and facilitating essential knowledge transfers and training initiatives.

The Applications System Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring readiness for change and accountability while managing support-related communications within the business.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The incumbent will guide the organization towards optimal performance by ensuring adherence to relevant standards, regulations, and internal policies concerning information technology solutions.

This position is responsible for fostering a service-oriented culture within the IT team by equipping them with the training necessary to deliver service levels aligned with the strategic objectives of the organization.


Core Responsibilities:
  • Generate, maintain, and present status reports on support metrics for executive leadership and team members, in collaboration with all IT support divisions.
  • Work with the IT team to establish and refine standards and references regarding quality, performance, and reusability of developed solutions.
  • Oversee the successful implementation and/or upgrades of enterprise resource planning systems (ERP) and related systems by partnering with business functional areas throughout the process, including vendor selection, deployment, testing, training, and process enhancement initiatives.
  • Manage the complete project lifecycle from initiation through to implementation.
  • Direct and coordinate business process analysis aimed at enhancing efficiency within the context of enterprise systems. Develop comprehensive plans that encompass all necessary elements of new business processes.
  • Facilitate the development of applications that meet business process requirements, utilizing accepted change management and pilot testing procedures.
  • Supervise the creation of custom management reports to fulfill business performance analysis needs.
  • Ensure the integrity of management reports and business system transactions by continuously monitoring data for accuracy and consistency.
  • Oversee the maintenance of user profiles and security for enterprise systems.
  • Lead the analysis, design, planning, configuration, and documentation necessary for deploying new ERP system modules to meet business needs.
  • Maintain system integrity within the deployment server and enterprise database server, leading the planning, installation, testing, and deployment of package builds, service packs, and software upgrades.
  • Design, document, and test disaster recovery solutions for application environments.
  • Review security architectural standards, database integrity, and ensure proper testing procedures are followed.
  • Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance and oversight of application support procedures and priorities.
  • Manage user support; oversee and resolve customer support issues, ensuring that service requests are addressed to customer satisfaction and key performance indicators are met.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary to support organizational objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in ERP system application implementation/support, preferably with JD Edwards/Oracle Enterprise One.
  • Experience managing other enterprise systems to support business needs.
  • Seven (7) years of project management experience.
  • Five (5) years of supervisory experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, writing, and communication skills.
