Event Culinary Supervisor

The Event Culinary Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting the design and execution of a premium catering strategy for corporate gatherings, weddings, and social events at designated venues, with an emphasis on ensuring financial success and consistent culinary quality within the catering division.

Compensation: $20.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the creation and delivery of exceptional cuisine for a range of special occasions.
  • Effectively implement catering service proposals.
  • Prepare menu selections for various service styles, including buffet, family-style, and plated options.
  • Support on-site catering personnel supervision during events.
  • Help prepare menu items for client tasting sessions.
  • Assist in scheduling event staff as needed.
  • Contribute to maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area through established cleaning protocols.
  • Follow procedures to minimize waste and spoilage.
  • May engage with clients to ascertain specific catering requirements.
  • Manage inventory systems for food and equipment.
  • Assist in the ordering and receiving of food, paper goods, cleaning supplies, and rental items.
  • Collaborate with venue staff to uphold site-specific catering and communication standards.
  • Ensure that catered events comply with local health department regulations.
  • Assist in monitoring individual event income and expenditures.
  • Adhere to all applicable regulations and inventory management practices.
  • Coordinate with external caterers when necessary.
  • Possess knowledge of emergency response protocols.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to design and execute a high-end wedding menu.
  • Proficient understanding and experience in the operation of food service facilities, including knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Familiarity with current sanitation standards and the ability to comply with these regulations.
  • Physical strength and dexterity to perform all necessary tasks, including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, as well as stooping and bending.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and customer service abilities.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, which may include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Capability to perform a variety of tasks, including custodial and cleaning duties.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain necessary certifications, including but not limited to ServSafe and TIPs Alcohol certifications.
